Personal Statement
Playing team sports football, basketball, and hockey, your part of a team but you rely on the others to be successful as a group.. In an individual sport your on your own little island and you can only rely on what you have put into it. If your successful no one can take that away from you. If you’re not then you need to train yourself to get better if you truly believe you want it.
It was my freshman year that I fell in love with track and field. I had never thrown a javelin, shot put or discus until late April 2022. My track coach said I would make a great thrower so I tried it out. I am so glad I did. I was a medallist in every meet I entered from our first invitational in early May 2022 right up to our Canadian U16-18 Nationals meet in August of 2023. Since then I have attended a few throws only camp in Pennsylvania and Toronto where I have met people who truly like these events! I’ve been exposed to multiple coaches and coaching styles, but developing relationships with fellow athletes from all over North America is the most rewarding part for me. I have been successful because I have been surrounded by good people. Who knows where my future athletic endeavors will take me?.. learning what hard work, dedication, and guidance from my coaches can give me … I’m excited to find out!
