Personal Statement
I am an UK athlete from Bolton, Greater Manchester looking into my next step in education in the fall of 2022. I am presently at high school and study Geology, Geography and Biology 'A' Levels.
I love competing in 5K road events, cross country and track & I presently compete mainly in mountain running.
This year I have had the honour of competing for Team England in the International Mountain Running Youth Cup; which would have been a WMRA event during normal times. I placed 3rd and helped the team win the silver medal. I have another Team England international call up in September. I previously represented England in 2019 at the Junior Home International placing 8th and as a team we won the gold medal. At the 2021 English Schools Fell (Mountain) Running Championships I took silver individually.
As a cross country runner I have represented Greater Manchester in the "Inter-counties" and English Schools competitions. My last XC season (2019-2020) was marred by a very badly sprained ankle in early November, hampering my racing & training, but coming back just enough to qualify for Manchester in the English Schools Championship where the team went on to win the Newcastle Trophy. During my enforced break I turned to swimming and in February 2020 I reached the County Championships in 50m freestyle.
In addition to the above mentioned "A levels" I am currently studying a Diploma in Sporting Excellence as part of the England Athletics Youth Talent Program for which I was selected last Fall. In 2020 I passed 10 GCSE's with result grades 4 - 7 (no exams due to CoVID).
I have seen footage of this years NCAA final and would relish the opportunity to put my hill strength and road speed together plus fulfil my dream of studying in a US college programme.
