Personal Statement
I was born to two immigrant parents who immigrated to Canada several decades ago. As a kid growing up, I have always enjoyed sports, yet I haven't competed until recently. During my grade nine year in high school, I stumbled upon pole vaulting. When I first started pole vault I felt like I was flying. As my love for the sport increased, so did my dedication. By the end of my grade nine year I was the CISAA championship for my school. I also won the same award during my grade ten year as well. I would be a good candidate for my team due to my, and teamwork. I believe that all athletes have dedication, work hard, and teamwork, yet I believe that my ability to work with a team excels. As a member of the Canadian Armed Forces, I have learned how to become a contributing member of a team. In the Forces, we learn to become a contributing member of a team no matter what. We always help each other out in order to succeed no strings attached. In the Forces, we succeed together, and we fail together. I believe that the skills and character developed there is very applicable to any sports team. I also strive to have a balance in everything, not only sports. Besides sports, I try my best to maintain good academics and also strive to participate in other activities. I am a part of the schools robotic team, and I have participated in the creative writing club, ceramics club, and graffiti club at my school.
