Personal Statement
Hi, I'm Gonzalo Jiménez
I was born in Mexico City, and I'm 16 years old. I started practicing at the age of 13.
~Tell coaches about your collegiate goals and aspirations.
My main goal is to graduate as an Aerospace/Mechanical Engineer, and also become a pro athlete to represent my country in the Olympics or World competitions.
~ What makes you a good candidate for their team?
I'm a person who considers that discipline is way better than talent, so I will always listen to my coach. I will be always there for my team if someone from my team is not doing so well, I'll be there for them.
I know that somedays can be tough, but as a team, we can make it through.
~ What makes you different from other recruits in character, athletics, and academics?
I'm a person who cares about others, especially my friends, I will always be there if they need me. In athletics I'm in the top 3 of my school, I reach the sub 20 before I was 15, I know that with training and discipline I can become a better athlete. In academics, I'm also in the top 3 of my class and the top 5 (approx) of my generation. I'm seeking to do an AP in Calculus in the next 2 years, and also I'm getting two high school diplomas, one American and the other Mexican.
