Personal Statement
As a freshman to win 3 consecutive events in nationals was motivating to take my abilities to the next level. But personally to break a national record in my senior year was the key moment to determine that track and field, was what I craved to do in college. Even with inadequate training equipment and with relatively new coaches, I always worked harder to get what I desired along with my high school career.
I was introduced to this sport at an early age but never really quite committed to the training because I wanted to experiment with other sports. When I arrived in high school and saw the potential that I had in track and field training began progressively, I really committed to the sport in my middle junior year. I believe to make the best out of my college experience I will need to dare myself academically and sports-wise, with an institute of my caliber un both. Leadership is my greatest skill, in my opinion, since being a leader has been taught to me since an early age by my parents, I am the captain of the track and field and cross country team in high school, currently.
