Jack Mills '19 Recruiting Profile

My name is Jack Mills I'm a 6'0, 18 year old male from Sydney, Australia. Currently I attended Barker College, a big CAS school on the North Shore of Sydney. Barker has taught me many life traits that I will take with me forever, the school motto is "Honour non honores", this means Honour above rewards. Over the past few years at Barker this saying has been a real eye opener and I really want to embrace it in the future. I think I am a very driven young man who wants to succeed at the highest levels that life has to offer. I want to be a professional athlete, at the moment I'm heading in the way of athletics but given the opportunity to try any other sports I'm always up for it. I do most sports with a ball and I'm not that bad, I play Rugby, Soccer, Surf and Swim at a representative level as well as play golf and lots of other sports. I think by attending an American University it will be very beneficial both in my academic and sporting areas. I have various goals for both my sporting and academic abilities, I want to medal at the Australian Junior athletics championships in either the 800m, 1500m or the 3km, currently I am 5th in the 800m with a PB of 1.55, 5th in the 1500m with a PB of 3.58 and 8th in the 3km with a PB of 8.58. I want to attend the Pacific schools games or the oceanic games, and then maybe even the Commonwealth games or the Olympics. In the area of academics I want to get a 90+ ATAR (equivalent of a 3.8+ GPA) and get a business or sports marketing degree as well as a masters degree. Ultimately motivation and work ethic is what sets me apart because I have the drive to succeed and I am willing to do whatever possible and spend the time training or studying so that I can achieve my goals. I am easy to get along with and I make friends very easily, I have a good sense of humour and I like life, I love sport and certain subjects at school and overall I just want to have fun and explore the world starting with surfing and snowboarding in America during the school breaks as well as meeting new friends overseas.
