Personal Statement
I currently train at an athletics club called York city. I train 4 times a week covering all events in the decathlon. I recently changed clubs, in January to get some more advanced coaching. This shows how committed I am because I now travel for 45 minutes to train. This also shows my love for the sport.
I would like to come to America to get some expert coaching to improve myself as an athlete and compete in a university team. I would like to go to a university in a high division to have a high standard to compete against. Also America would provide high level scholarships which we do not have in the UK. This would give me the opportunity to focus on athletics more.
In the future my main goal would be to compete for Great Britain or England internationally. It has been a long term goal to compete for my country at a major championship and I think coming to America could help me progress and reach my goals.
In England our University students compete in the BUCS (British University Championships) which is quite small compared to the NCAA tack and field championships in the US. This would give me the opportunity to compete on a much larger stage than staying in the UK.
I would fit in well to university team because I am hard working and dedicated to the sport.
I'm currently studying maths, physics and design technology for a levels. I plan on studying civil engineering at university.
