Personal Statement
My name is Juan Pablo Osorio and the reason why I am writing this letter is to explain my interest in being part of your team. I am disciplined, rest, and have good nutrition to always get better results.
Among the competitions in which I have been highlights old, high-performance athlete who was born and currently lives in La Ceja, Colombia (7200ft above sea level). I am nearing the end of my high school studies in 2021 with academic and athletic honors and now I am looking for an opportunity to study and compete in the United States.
My training process began in 2014, I started running for fun combining it with swimming, I did several competitions where I did well especially at speed tests. I continued training with more dedication getting to win competitions at the state level and representing Antioquia in national championships reaching on multiple occasions to the top 5 positions. In addition, I did good times in the modalities of middle-distance, having a really quick improvement in my performance. Now, I do very well in track races, but I have always been versatile and have won several competitions in obstacles, and street races, I try everyday to train harder and smarter and be disciplined, rest, and have good nutrition to always get better results.
Among the competitions in which I have been highlighted I have the following records:
-800m = 1:56.1
-1000m= 2:36.2 (7200ft above sea level)
- 1000m steeplechase = 2:50
- 1500m = 4:13
- 2000m steeplechase = 6:35
- 5000m = 16:27
- 10000m = 34:41
Although here we haven't competed much this last year, I have used the extra time due to lockdowns wisely getting more strength workouts and more volume into my training plan.
I will earn my high school degree from Institución Educativa Concejo Municipal in La Ceja, Colombia with an English level of B2, I had different opportunities to develop my English skills and explore my interest in others cultures by actively participating in classes and activities organized by my school. In addition, my favorite hobbies are studying English and mathematics, I really enjoy swimming, cycling, reading, watching documentaries and spending time with my family and friends.
