Ignacio Mijares '22 Recruiting Profile

My biggest goal and aspiration despite being rather farfetched would be to represent my country (Either Canada or Mexico) at an international competition, whether that be world cross country, PanAms, etc.

I'm a hard working, gritty, and determined runner, nothing has been given to men, you can tell by my progressions in terms of seasons bests from my freshman year when I started up until now, these include the following:

5k - 19:57 - 16:52 - 15:48

3k - 10:10 - 9:52 - 8:55

1.5k - 4:38 - 4:27 - 4:06

I'm a coachable athlete and a team leader that has been able to step up to the occasion, even back when I was younger as you can see by my sophomore MVP and all-tournament accolades when our team's top runner and captains left over the summer.

I have a 4+ gpa from an international school taking the full IB diploma and value my academics as much as I do my athletics, I'm able to translate the work ethic and consistency I've gained from distance running to my studies, allowing me to be a good student as well.
