Personal Statement
I am Bahamian and I haven't been doing track for the longest time but I have improved a great deal in my short time commited to the sport. I aspire to continue my track and field journey into college and get faster and stronger everyday. My primary goal is to compete at the highest level of track and field and one day break my country's 800m National Record of 1:49.22. I believe I am an excellent addition to any track and field team as I am a diverse athlete that has had experience running competitively at distances as short as 400m and as long as 5000m. I may not be the fastest on a track team, but I am an athlete that wont allow for any of my teammates and or competitors out work me. I am focused, disciplined, and with the right guidance, system, and coaching, I believe I can be better than people would think possible. While I am focused on becoming a better athlete individually, it means nothing to me if I can't help my teammates around me improve simultaneously. Additionally, just as I am on the track, I am an equally discipled and focused student in the class room. I've never dropped below the honor roll and have always worked hard in my pursuit of knowledge. I am a very teachable student, and coachable athlete. I listen attentively and absorb information like no one else, making me a quick learner.
