Personal Statement
I have been running since I was eight years old and my intention was for track to just be a pastime but now that has evolved into so much more and it is my dream to compete at college level and maybe even the Olympics. Despite my early start, it wasn't until I was fourteen that I discovered my love for the 400m and it was this that resulted in me qualifying for three Barbados national teams; one which I captained. I also broke a seventeen year old record when I ran my PB of 47.86s in addition to being a member of three record breaking relay teams. As well as athletic success, it is my belief that it is equally as important to maintain a high level of academics. Being a member of the Rising Stars Track and Field Club has taught me the values of sportsmanship, teamwork and discipline which I carry with me in every aspect of my life. In addition to this, I always encourage and support my teammates and my willingness to improve on my times will make me a good fit on any team as I am open to all options.
