Personal Statement
Hello, my name is Joshua Gill. I am 17 and living in Nelson, New Zealand where I am in my senior high school year attending Nelson College. My aspirations are to compete in track and field and cross country and study psychology at a US college. I aspire for this as my next step in life pursuing my passions. I believe the US college system will provide the best opportunities for me to do this. I am a very social person who loves meeting new people and enjoys team lifestyle. I value loyalty, support, discipline and hard work which I hope to bring to others as well as strengthen in myself at any college. I want to study psychology because it is really interesting and I am curious to understand why humans and animals in general act the way they do. Being a distance athlete, I understand how crucial it is to endure pain and be mentally strong just as much as being in top physical shape for my sport. I hope to keep improving myself as a person with this mindset and show others as well. I use the same principle in my academics and I am always looking to learn more and improve my existing knowledge. If there is something I want to achieve, I will give 100% and more to do so.
