Michael Adderley '17 Recruiting Profile

Hi, I'm Michael Adderley and  I would like to become a sub 46 seconds 400 meter runner, a top ten long jumper, and also improve in other events I take part in whilst obtaining a quality college education. Prior to this year, my main events were the 400m and the high jump, however to fulfill needs on my school's team, this year I have competed more in the long and triple jumps achieving personal bests after only a few months training of 6.72m and 13.16m respectively. I recently represented my country at the Commonwealth Youth Games finishing 5th overall in the long jump. I have also competed and won the shot put and discus events as well as medaled in the 400m hurdles.  I know that I would be a great candidate for your college because I am determined, open minded, persistent and ready to learn what I must to become the best athlete I can.  Since the third grade, it has always been my goal to become an Olympic athlete and I am focused and committed to putting in the work necessary to make this dream a reality. I am different from other recruits because I am open to recruitment as an individual or multi-event athlete.  Further, after having worked 2 editions of the World Relays and met a number of top world class athletes, I am even more determined to work hard and become the best in my events.  I am humorous and easy to communicate with people of various personalities.  I am devoted to my sport and am willing to put in the hard work necessary to improve both athletically and academically.
