Personal Statement
Hello, When it comes to sports and learning new things, I'm great at it. I'm a confident person who isn't afraid of a challenge, a person that will not stop till I have completed the challenge I am faced with. With this mindset, I've burst through a lot of barriers that neither myself or my mother could imagine. I say my mother as my dad left when I was three and I had to grow up with a hypocritical stepdad. I've had to fight to get what I have and for what I want. With my challenging childhood, I would always look to find a way to relieve the frustration I had Built up, and that usually being through exercise. I started to find out running and jumping was actually really fun and really good at relieving stress. although most training and competing I've done has been done on grass except for a few exceptions where it was done on the synthetic track since my town isn't a track and field hot spot. Through my sport, I've made many friends across the various sports I've played, including sports only found in Australia and New Zealand. Being Australian, I feel would help me make friends in the U.S as apparently my accent is cool and we are known as 'the funny ones.' I like to joke around and have a good laugh but ultimately know the best times to just be quiet and listen. I believe that no matter how big or small a person is, no matter how serious or funny a person is, no matter if you can jump the furthest in the world or barely be able to move from their bed, that one person can be someone else's inspiration, hero, enemy. One person can be an entire cheer squad for someone else, they just need to find it in themselves to be that cheer squad, to be the little kids hero. With this mindset of confidence, tenacity, humour and optimism, I Ethan Nugent, would make a great addition to any college not only as an athlete or a student but as a genuine person that speaks nothing but the truth.
I also really love chocolate and skittles.
