My name is Dhruv Sakhuja, and my journey into track and field is one of transformation, dedication, and unrelenting passion. From the soccer field, where I spent nearly a decade honing my agility, teamwork, and resilience, to the track, where I discovered my true calling as a sprinter in early 2024, every step I’ve taken has been driven by the pursuit of excellence.
As an athlete, I pride myself on being versatile and committed. Whether having chasen down the soccer ball or running till the thrill of the finish line, I give my all to the pursuit of progress. Although having spent a significant time in soccer before taking on sprinting, sprinting has become more than just a sport to me—it’s a discipline that pushes me to challenge my limits, refine my skills, and grow as an individual. Track and field has taught me the value of precision, hard work, and mental toughness, all of which I bring not only to athletics but to every aspect of my life.
My aspiration is to compete at the NCAA Division 1 level, surrounded by like-minded individuals who push each other to be the best versions of themselves. Beyond the track, I see myself thriving in the corporate financial and business industry, where the same principles of discipline, strategy, and adaptability will guide me toward success.
Balancing academics, athletics, and personal growth, I take pride in being an all-rounded individual who can adapt to challenges and rise to any occasion. I bring dedication, determination, and a team-oriented mindset to everything I pursue.
The transition from soccer to track was more than just a shift in sport; it was a testament to my ability to embrace new challenges and channel my energy toward achieving ambitious goals. I am ready to keep pushing forward, and I look forward to the opportunity to represent a collegiate program that values both athletic and personal development. I know that as I continue to embrace my unique personality traits in this athletic and academic journey of mine, I will also be able to show the universities out there that I am a good fit for both their academic courses but also their athletics teams.
