I have been competing in Track and Field since I was 12 years old, and since then, my passion for running and winning has been increasing. In Costa Rica, I am one of the top 3 hurdlers (110m HH and 400m H) in my age group, and I know that if I am able to attend college in the US, my opportunities to grow as an athlete and as a person will multiply tremendously.
I enjoy helping younger athletes improve their performance, and that is why I plan to pursue a career in Exercise Science to hopefully one day become a coach. I consider myself a very "coachable" athlete, especially after attending the Complete Track and Field Clinic at Harvard University. I had the privilege to receive training from several distinguished college coaches.
My grades are not the best, but certainly I am a hard working student. I try to maintain my grades as high as possible, and when I need to get up early to finish school work, I do it.
I want to attend a college that will help me grow as a person and as an athlete. Studying abroad is a once in a lifetime opportunity that I pray my track results will allow me to obtain. I am open to all options, but education costs will be a determining factor.
