Personal Statement
My name is Juan Gerardo Jimenez, I am currently in my Senior year. In High School. I study at the David Livingston Christian School in San Salvador. El Salvador.
I have been doing track and field since I was on 3rd grade. My dream has always been to run at a high college level, in a competitive level, and train professionally to become the best in sports, as a professional and human being.
Since 2008 I joined a free membership athletic club “Vides Athletics “and practice d every day of the week, sometimes twice a day. I am following a strict diet to improve Long jump results since august this year. My practice schedule consists of 3 days a week at the gym lifting weights, and the other 4 days we are at the track running and doing techniques.
Since 2008 I have improved in 100 meters from 13.3 seconds to 11.90 seconds. In 200 meters I have improved from 26.10 seconds to 24.15 seconds and in long jump I have improved from 4.85meters to 6.25meters.
I am a great team player, always support my team mates, helping and coaching each other with techniques, attending all events even if I am not participating directly, celebrating wins and learning from experiences. I have proved that I can handle track and field and studies at the same time by having a GPA of 3.33. I am also an active member of church since 2009, serving and taking God’s word to younger kids.
I want to attend college because I want to gain knowledge and skills that I know I will use and need for the rest of my life. I am open for all options to find the right college and coach, that can help get to a higher level with techniques and support. I truly believe that honesty, responsibility, commitment and effort are key to success.
