Personal Statement
I was born in Iowa City, IA and now live in Sydney, Australia where I attend Newington College. I will complete my Higher School Certificate examinations in 2019 and am looking to explore the potential of returning to America for College.
Like my father and his father before and him, I am a late developer, both academically and athletically. My grandfather was educated in Cambridge England and was a Judge. My father is a Professor of Genetics. Academically, my grades have improved over recent years. Athletically, 2018/19 was my breakout year. Although I have trained as a sprinter for 10 years, 2018 was the first year that I was selected for the State Team. I made the 100 m finals at Nationals but did not run as well as I had hoped due to nervousness. Due to my recent improvements, I have been invited to the Athletics NSW 2019 Target Talent program.
I expect to continue my academic and athletic development over the next 5 years. I do not know if I have the talent to run under 10s for the 100 m, but I will enjoy the focus that is needed to try.
Otherwise, I would consider myself an easy going personable individual. I like to laugh, but will stoically defend my team, my friends and my family.
