Personal Statement
I am an ambitious and dedicated track athlete with a deep passion for both personal and team success. Last year, I had the honour of winning the English Schools Championships, a milestone that fuelled my drive to continue improving and achieving at higher levels, including two opportunities to represent England. My journey in athletics has not only taught me the importance of discipline and focus but has also shaped me into a confident leader. Whether leading by example during training sessions by being prepared, working hard and pushing myself, or motivating teammates at competitions by helping with racing strategies and evaluations.
As an athlete, I set high standards for myself, constantly striving to surpass my personal bests and refine my skills. This coming track season (2025), I aim to improve all my PRs across 800m through to 5k, as I have in previous years. To achieve this, I have increased my training mileage and strength work to reflect the longer 2k steeplechase and cross-country distances. This means I am now solely focusing on athletics to fully dedicate myself to these disciplines.
This relentless pursuit of excellence extends beyond athletics, shaping my approach to academics, leadership, and personal growth. My commitment to excellence is demonstrated by my involvement in the leadership academy during high school, where I developed and delivered sports programmes to young people. Additionally, I have continued this commitment by serving as a football referee.
My ultimate goal is to continue to excel at the collegiate level and onto the international stage, further refining my athletic abilities and leadership skills while contributing to a team-oriented environment. I am eager to join a university where I can challenge myself, develop as an athlete and a person, and help my team reach new heights.
