Jack Belding '24 Recruiting Profile

My name is Jack Belding and I am a 2024 varsity track athlete from Ankeny High School in Ankeny, Iowa. I am a sprinter who has primarily focused on the 100 and 200, although I began to also run on my team’s 4x400 relay last year as a sophomore. I had a lot of success last year leading off our winning state champion sprint medley. In addition to this, I also competed in the 4x100, 4x200, and 4x400 relays at the state meet. I have always loved to run and have been part of multiple track clubs since I was in 3rd grade. I also played football- both flag and tackle -from elementary through my sophomore year when I was the starting running back on our JV team. I decided to stop playing football to get a job, enjoy my summer, and stay healthy while preparing for my upcoming junior year track season. This year I am focused on setting new PRs in the 100, 200, 400, and on multiple relays to help my team compete for a state championship. I want to continue my love of track and competing at the collegiate level.

While I love track, academic success is also extremely important to me. I have, and will continue to challenge myself with multiple AP courses while maintaining a weighted GPA above 4.0. I have always loved building things and seeing creative ideas come to life. My desire is to attend a school with a strong architecture program so I can pursue my dream of being an architect.
