Running has been my way of life for the past 2 years, and a part of my life since I was born. As the son of a coach, I've had good mentors to look up to while building myself as both an athlete and a person. On and off the track, course, or streets I try focusing on a positive mindset, in large part inspired by the great people who I always seem to find around me. While running is something I approach each day focusing on a positive attitude, it is something that comes almost as an afterthought as I've come to realize it is my stress relief as well as something that shapes my mind and body to become something greater. Whether it's trying to run faster in a farther race, upping my mileage while feeling better, or excelling in a harder class, the constant pursuit of personal greatness and betterment is something I truly believe helps me excel as a student athlete. As such, running helps me balance my workload rather than becoming a part of it leading me to explore new ways to push myself into new territory, sometimes outside my comfort zone. From academics, positive outlook, willingness to learn something new, listen to and consider new approaches, and a constant drive to keep working and making improvements wherever they can be made. I believe that for both academics and athletics I am ready to reach new heights and the unique challenges presented by the collegiate scene. Moving to college competition, my goals would be to continue improving and excelling in running and academics while making a positive impact on anyone I might meet along the way.
