I'm a 16 year old rising Junior attending Long Reach High School. I started running track the summer of 2010 and absolutely fell in love with the sport. Each season I have been able to improve on my times in the 100, 200, and 400 meter events. Unfortunately, I broke my right femur bone during football 2-A-Days in August of 2011. Yet, I was still able to recover by the winter track season of 2012 and helped my 4x200 relay team capture 2nd place at the 2012 Maryland 2A Indoor State championships. Then, during the outdoor season, I helped my 4x100 relay team to 4th pace, 4x200 relay to 2nd place, and 4x400 relay to 8th place at the 2012 Maryland 2A Outdoor State Championships and also captured 4th place in the open 200m event. This shows that I am a quick healer and also willing to work hard to get back into running form after a freak injury. I am also a three time AAU Junior Olympian.
One of my goals is to earn a scholarship to run track at either a DI or DII University. I want to be able to run for a University with a good track program that can help me develop and maximize my potential. Another one of my goals is to compete in the Olympics for my home country of Nigeria. I aim to run track for NIgeria at either the 2016 or 2020 Olympics or even both. I am willing to do whatever it takes to one day represent NIgeria in the Olympics. But, if my track career does not work out, I want to become a sports agent.
I am a great student earning several academic accolades as well as Prinicipal Leadership awards. I am also a very hard worker, willing to do whatever is neccessary to improve my performance. Lastly, I am a good listner. I do not argue with coaches when they tell me to adjust my running form or what to do at practice.
