My main goal in collegiate sports is to reach my genetic potential as an athlete, and to contribute to an elite collegiate team. I think of myself as a team-oriented athlete, while also having the intentions of being the best athlete that I can be. Regarding academics, I am motivated to work hard to learn and obtain a degree that will set me up for the rest of my life. I have never had an issue with excelling in the classroom. I come from a large rural High School that does not have a rich history of distance running. My coaches and I have worked together to improve myself as an athlete, and I have now earned all of my school records while essentially training by myself. I train with relatively low mileage and low intensity in order to stay healthy, so I believe that I have a lot of room to improve as an athlete. I have improved every single season of high school, and I don’t see why that would slow down. I am really excited for the collegiate system, and I can’t wait to work with an elite coach and team that will take the mental strain off of creating and running my own workouts.
