I am a cross country and track athlete from Montague, MI. In track, my primary event is the 3200m, and my secondary events are the 1600m and the 3200m relay. As a sophomore, I was the 2017 Western Michigan Conference champion in both the 3200m and 1600m runs. I am a hard worker and am willing to give anything up for the good of the team. My high school cross country team has had a lot of setbacks this season due to injured runners and inappropriate choices by the senior I am co-captain with. I have been forced to step up as a leader in ways I wouldn't have considered in the past. Becoming a team leader has helped me to grasp my leadership role not only as a team captain but also how to push others to reach their goals as the top runner on the team.
Personally, I have the interest to go to school in the Midwest, but more specifically, I would like to stay within the state of Michigan. I want to study relatively close to home, but that certainly doesn't mean I wouldn't want to go to the perfect school for me, even if it is beyond the borders of Michigan. I would like to attend a smaller Christian division one or two school, but I am open to many types of schools. Academically, my strengths are math and science, however, I am currently unsure about what major fits me, and am searching for a study that I know I would enjoy. Athletically, my goal is to be the very best I can possibly be as a senior in college. I am devoted to running, and I have been taught to be patient to reach my goals. I am in no rush to reach my potential, I believe I will reach that point with the right coaching at the right time.
