I have been in love with track ever since I was in elementary. I can remember watching the Olympic trials race and the olympics every time. When I was in 5th grade I truly discovered my love for the support and realized that I had the same opportunity as them, to begin competing in the sport of track and field.
I am a 2 sport athlete. I run track and field indoor in the Fall while being able to maintain academics. I am also a member of Trojan Athletics which is a AAU team. Recently, I was named among the top 50 long jump and triple jumpers in the nation. Being a good student leader in the classroom is just as important as being a good athlete and team member. I also help around in my community with non-profit organizations when I lived in Houston, and now here in Michigan. Trying to be of the Varsity Track team I would be able to help with many different events to help my team. I run and jump sprints, long jump, and triple jump depending on the meet and what my team needs for the day. I consider myself a short sprinter and long jumper , but can do a variety of events. My favorite events are the 100, 200 ,relays and also jumps.
I work hard every day to improve my times to help my team and improve my PR. I'm willing to try new events and understand there is always room for growth and improvement. The 400 and 4x4 and have always interested me and would be something I'd be willing to give a try. I know it requires coordination, running skills and multi-sport skills.
My dream is to be part of a college track team and obtain a degree in journalism, and public studies.
