My name is Dane Hieronimus from the recruiting class of 2026. My goal is to become a collegiate athlete in both cross country and track and work towards that during my junior and senior seasons. Currently, my PR for the 5k is 16:04 and I placed First Team All SEC (league) and First Team region 5 in Michigan this year as. Junior. I was elected captain of the team and I'm proud to say after 3 years of hard work our team qualified for states. At states I finished 55th in D1 for the state of Michigan and I'm currently ranked 29th for the junior class.
Post high school, I plan to further my education by receiving a Bachelor's degree in Architecture or pursue Prelaw or Secondary Education. I believe what sets me apart from other athletes is that I am a gritty" runner that is willing to put in extra work to improve whether it be on the track or in the weight room. My coach describes me as "blue collar" ... meaning he can count on me for my best each race no matter what without excuses. Although athletics are an important part of defining who I am the aspect that I am most proud of is my academic success in the classroom and maintaining a 4.2 GPA.
Cross Country has been my passion since junior high and I would truly love the opportunity to continue my career as a runner and be an important asset to a collegiate team. Best of luck on your team's seasons!
