Hello coaches and recruiters. My name is Vishvaa Ravishankar and I am currently a junior at Troy High School in Michigan. I began running in 5th grade in order to improve my endurance and speed for soccer. My parents also ran when they were younger, so I wanted to have a sport in common with them. At the start, I found it very hard and almost quit multiple times, which is one thing I'm very glad I didn't do. But after about a year, I began to realize my talent and potential and developed a passion for the sport. I quickly quit soccer and focused all of my attention towards running.
The achievement I am the proudest of in my running career so far is getting all state in the 2022 cross country season. I was appointed as a captain of my school team for the 2023 cross country season. As a captain I will try to lead by example while also encouraging my teammates. I am very coachable and strive to be one of the hardest working runners for any team I am a part of. In school, I study hard and maintain a high GPA while taking a rigorous course load. I also volunteer in my school and local community.
I want to attend a college where I can push myself in the classroom and in running. I understand the commitment and hard work required to succeed in both athletics and academics and would love to continue my running career in college as I know I have not yet reached my full potential yet. I believe I would be a great fit for any collegiate cross country/track program. In the future, I would love to have a career in something data science related such as a data analyst.
