Hello, my name is Benjamin Kritsberg. I have participated in sports for as long as I can remember. I played soccer in the fall, and baseball in the spring. However, as I grew older I began trying new sports. I tried football instead of soccer and have played it all way through my senior season which wrapped up recently. Then, in 6th grade, I decided to try Track as something I could do to bide my time. Well, I fell in love with the sport and found I did really well in sprinting events and that's what I've stuck to ever since.
Throughout my track career, there have been ups and downs. As a freshman, I didn't do so well and my sophomore season was taken away because of covid. Last season is when started to see all the work I'd been putting in start to pay off. I placed 8th in my conference at the 100m with a time of 11.44 seconds, and then I placed 7th in my section for the 100m out of 42 runners. I love to support my teammates and have been voted captain for the upcoming season in the spring. I have had the honor of being on two metro-east conference championship teams and I am going to help lead my team to a third.
However, education always comes first for me. I have taken many AP courses, achieved a 27 on the ACT, and currently have a 3.83 GPA. I have also had the honor to be inducted into my school's National Honor Society Chapter. I look forward to helping my community in any way I can in the coming months. I am looking to major in Sports Management. I am hoping I am given the opportunity to compete at the next level, whether that's at a division three college or a division one college, I truly have no preference. I want to compete at the highest level while I receive a top-rated education.
