2023 SpotlightPersonal Statement
My name is Wyatt Wallingford. I joined track last year at West Platte High School for the first time and learned that I loved pole vaulting. As soon as the track season was over, I joined "Olympus Vault Academy" in Lenexa, Kansas for their summer program to learn proper technique and form. I just finished up the winter session, where I was able to attend a meet at Washburn University (video attached). I have increased my height from 7.5 to 10.6 this past year while training. I am getting ready to begin our track season at West Platte High School and hope to achieve 12 feet consistently by the end of the season. I would love to continue and improve my vaulting skill, while attending college next year.
