Hi, my name is John Brooks. I developed a love for track at a young age; I would love to run around all the time as a kid. I began track in 6th grade, and have stuck with it ever since (5 years and counting). Along with normal practices, I go to the gym to stay in even better shape during the offseason, working to excel at what I do. My main event is the long jump - I just broke 20 feet this past indoor season. On top of track, I also work hard academically. I finished last year with a 3.7 GPA, and although I haven’t taken the official SAT yet, I scored a 1300/1500 on my Collegeboard Practice SAT, taken school-wide. I feel that I would be a great fit to continue in track at a college level for many reasons. I am a self-driven person - I like to challenge myself constantly especially as an athlete. I work to find out how I can make myself both a better person and a better fit for the team. Along with this, I love to work with others around me, pushing each other to be the best that we can be. Track has always been a love of mine, and I hope you can help me to continue my journey on your team.
