My experience in track and field is quite unique. Currently, I am a junior in Bridgewater Raritan High School in New Jersey. My freshman year (2019-2020) I was interested in doing some event in track and field however i was not sure of which. That year unfortunately was cut short by covid 19. My sophomore year (2020-2021) I was again crippled due to an unexpected health issue. Right at the beginning of the spring season, I suddenly went to the hospital with an unknown instant pain in my stomach. It turned out to be a hole in my stomach called gastrointestinal perforation. It is a rare condition that developed out of no-where. I ended up getting a surgery, stayed at the hospital for a week and now have a 4 inch cut on my belly. Because of this unexpected health complication, I could not compete in that year. Luckily, I am all well now and I decided to focus on the javelin for the spring season this year (2021-2022). On my first meet with a 3 step throw, I got 102-2 feet. Although this distance is not strong enough for me to obtain any recognition just year, I am training every single day and the distance is only going to improve as I incorporate a run up and better form. While I might be a bit insignificant at the moment, my track and field career is still in its infancy and I believe I have huge potentials and room for improvements since this is nonetheless my first year.
