Although I only started XCTF in the winter of my sophomore year, I have taken the initiative to perform everyday and put my best foot forward. I always have a smile on my face and lift my teammates up with motivation and persistent positivity. In my opinion, XCTF is the best way to make yourself the best version you can be. Some people work on cars, others on novels, but I work on me. Everything I have become during my time as a distance athlete has been created by the work I put in every day. Every time I race, I attribute my success by my own invention. The work I have put in and will continue to put in is for the purpose of making who I am currently better than I was before. I don't compare myself to others and I always have a positive attitude to contribute to my team. I am so grateful for my coaches and teammates who continue to motivate and support me. My school has had some successful athletes before, and my coach sees the potential I have. I made it to Nationals for the SMR, I qualified for states, and I have made some significant drops in my PRs. I am so grateful for the opportunities I have been given, and I will continue to uphold the academic and athletic standards to forward my progress as a successful athlete.
