My name is Max Mahoney and I'm senior at Montgomery High School. I am a 3 season runner participating in Cross Country in the fall, Winter Track and and Spring Track.
As a runner, I am very dedicated and motivated by my goal setting. My favorite running events are the 1600, 3200 and 5K. In the summer of 2021 I attended the Nike Running Camp at UNC Asheville. In the Summer of 2022, I attended the Duke Track and Field Camp. I love running and being part of a team! My favorite thing to do is not only compete for myself, but also help the others on the team feel good about what they are doing.
Academically, I deal with the learning differences of dyslexia and ADHD. These added learning challenges have allowed me to think differently and to compensate in unique ways. I am proud of the way I have been able to use these learning differences to motivate me as a learner and as an athlete. As a junior and as a senior, I have the opportunity to be a Peer Leader at my school. This means that I am a resource to the incoming freshman to help them get acclimated to life at the High School.
Outside of school, I volunteer to help the Special Olympics Track and Field team. I also am a photographer and coach for our local recreation flag football teams. I also am a teacher assistant at my synagogue. I also do all of the social media posts for my HS Track and Field Team. Check us out at Montytrackxc.
I am looking forward to continuing my running career in college. I'd love the opportunity to talk to you about how I might be a good fit for your team.
