I started running cross country in 7th grade because I was part of a youth running club. In the beginning, I only ran for fun and wasn't very serious about it. This continued until my sophomore cross country season when our team thought we had a chance to win sectionals for cross country for the first time in 35 years. Upon hearing that, I started to become more dedicated to trying to help our team accomplish our goal. We ended up winning sectionals that year. This cross country season we have a chance to win the state meet and possibly go to NXN. I am fully committed to the team to try and help make both of those things happen. I also have been running on the track and field team for the past three years. I feel that I am a good team member in always supporting my teammates. Since middle school, I have been taking enriched classes and some college classes now to push myself to my fullest abilities. The most important thing I have learned from running is how to mentally and physically push myself to do more than I ever thought was possible.
