Being a multi sport athlete throughout my high school varsity experience, I’ve had the opportunity to compete in soccer, basketball, football and, in the last three years, track and field. What I have learned with each sport was that success rests on the following ambitions: being committed, understanding the concept of teamwork, being a good listener, sacrificing yourself and stepping in as a leader. These ambitions are all within my core, and have influenced my steady incremental success of my running times and becoming the team captain of the indoor and outdoor track teams during my senior year (2017-2018). It was discovered in 10th grade, that I had the fastest all time 200 meter school record. The track coach encouraged me to join track and, soon after running at several track meets, we realized running track is where my talent lay.
My strong areas of track are the 600 meter and the 4x800 meter relay races which have allowed me to recently compete in the NYRR Millrose Games. My goal after high school is to be accepted to an undergraduate college program that will meet my academic goals and aspirations, as well as, allow me to compete in track on a collegiate level. What I will bring with me are the following: strong character, integrity, leadership skills and work-ethic. It’s the protocol my parents taught me and it’s what has given me success in all my athletic and personal endeavors.
