My goal is to figure out a place that is the right fit for me to reach my fullest potential academically and athletically. My persistence on and off the track has always been a key factor in my success, and I believe that it plays a large role in setting me apart from others. For example, this past cross country season at the divisional meet, I was pulled off the course due to stomach pains and hours later I was in surgery getting my appendix removed. Unfortunately, I was forced to miss a month and a half. This past year I have been working harder than ever to get back to where I was, and become even stronger than before, setting PRs along the way. With discipline and effective time management skills, I've kept up with school work and the extra training. Life lessons are learned on the track as well, I know hard work pays off. Overcoming this challenge has been motivating and has helped shape me as a determined athlete and scholar.
