Personal Statement

Hello! My name is Stephen Snider and I am a senior at Edmond Santa Fe High School located in Edmond, Oklahoma. From when I was little to now, I have developed a love for running; in fact, I look forward to a workout everyday. My goal is to maximize my running potential and get the best education at the same time. I hope to find a school that can match both of these aspirations and are affordable for me and my family.

I work hard not only in athletics, but in academics as well. I am an Eagle Scout and honors student. This year, all the classes that I am enrolled in are Advanced Placement. I have an unweighted GPA of 3.977 and an ACT cummalitive score of 29. I am also enrolled in the Francis Tuttle Pre-Engineering Academy, where I take engineering-specific courses, such as Principles of Engineering and Engineering Design and Development. As you can see, I take academics very seriously.

I am constatnly looking to improve myself. I work very hard and compete at the best of my ability. I am very coachable and willing to listen and learn. I do my best to show-up to every practice possible. When a coach offers feedback, I do not take it for granted; I take it as an opportunity to improve. I am constantly trying to find ways to improve myself, whether it is diet and nutrition, training, technique, and tactics. I promise that you will be able to count on me.

I hope to find a coach who will be willing to give me a chance to achieve my potential. I would like a coach who will be willing to treat me as equally as his other athletes, train me based-upon my needs, understand the importance of academics, be easy to communicate with, and act as a teacher and mentor. I would like to go to a school that offers some sort of four-year engineering degree or program, that is affordable for me and my family, and that is in a driving distance of one day at max. I look forward to communicating with you.
