Gabe Simonsen '21 Recruiting Profile

I started running to become a better soccer player for my competitive team, but I soon figure out that I enjoy running.  I enjoy the competition of running against some of my good friends.  I train with many of the people that I compete with and have developed good friendships in the process.  My strength is in my endurance which will help me compete at a higher level in longer distances.  My goals for college consist of academic and athletic success. My desire to compete has guided me to early success through hard work, dedication and a strong willingness to be coached.  I've been fortunate to have a High School Coach, Mike McGarry, who has not only helped me with my mechanics but also with how I study and understand the race.  He has helped me to not only go out and run as an individual but to also encourage and inspire my teammates.  My goal is not for just me to be better but for me to help my team be better.
