Track and Feild Personal Statement
Hello, my name is Calvin Lewis. I am a senior at Mountain View High School in Bend, Oregon. I joined the track and field team at Mountain View my freshman year. I joined the track team because it gave me the opportunity to stay in shape. At first, I thought I knew what events I wanted to do, but halfway through my freshman season I decided to pole-vault. Once I started jumping, I fell in love with the feeling of free falling and getting my body upside down. From that point on I knew that I wanted to compete in the higher ranks. I have had many great experiences throughout my high school career but track and field gave me the best experiences out of them all. Track has prepared me for both success and failures. It has also taught me many lessons like, hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work hard. Track has showed me that even when I am successful, or if I fail, there is always another day to better myself.
