Cole Thomas '12 Recruiting Profile

My name is Cole Thomas. I live in Condon, Oregon where I have competed in athletics for almost seven years. I've played football since sixth grade and have been a starter every year. This year I am a senior and a team captain, as well as the starting quarterback. I believe that I'm a good leader because I'm able to keep my composure, lead other team mates and make inteligent decisions without having to consult my coach. My best game so far this year was against Portland Lutheran School from Portland, Oregon. During this game I was able to score two passing touchdowns, two rushing touchdowns, and one recieving touchdown as well as three two point conversions. I play linebacker and safety, as well as defensive end. I am also the punter for our team and play on special teams; both kickoff and kick return.
 I've participated in track and field at the highschool level for the last two years. My primary event is the 800 meter run, however, I won a team decathalon and I am competitive in multiple events including the 300 meter hurdles, the 400 meter run, the 3000 meter run and the triple jump. Last year I was the district champion in the 800 meter run and placed 8th at the Oregon State track meet in this event. I was a team captain last year and recieved an award from my school for "athlete of the year". I work as hard in practice as in a meet. I can lead a team with confidence and help other athletes. Last year I improved my 800 meter run time by nearly 12 seconds from the beginning of the season till the end. This year my goal in track is to get a more dominant win at the district track meet and set a new meet record at state in the 800 meter run. I believe I would make an excellent addition to any team because I'm competitive, hard working and a good leader.
