Personal Statement
My name is Carter Bengtson. I am currently a Senior at Cottage Grove High School in Cottage Grove, OR. I have maintained straight A's throughout my High School career alongside a 3.98 GPA while competing in 4 sports throughout the year.
I'm on pace to earn 16 varsity letters in high school competing in cross country, soccer, wrestling, and track. This past fall, I was the 4A Boys Cross Country State Champion where I ran a 15:41 at the state meet and had a PB of 15:09. I was also recognized as a first team all-state defender on our soccer team that finished second in the state tournament. I am a three time state qualifier in wrestling and placed 6th at the 2024 state tournament.
I have not run Track yet this year but my best time last season came at the state meet when I ran an 8:37 in the 3000m, finishing 2nd as a junior.
Running is my passion and I want to combine that love and my educational goals.
