My future goal is to become an Olympic track athlete. Before I was in kindergarten, my parents made me attend my older sister's track events every weekend. I enjoyed seeing my sister run and cheering her on! I've seen my family support her during her journey. When I was in kindergarten, I wanted to join the track team. The team as well. Therefore, my parents signed me up to become a pee wee since I was too young to be on the actual team. My family has been and is continuing to be a great support system for me.
While I grew up and became old enough to be on the team I continued to love track. I appreciated my track team members. We encourage one another to do our very best for each track event. I enjoyed my individual races as well as my relay races. I had fantastic coaches to look up to and helped with my athletic abilities.
While being in high school, I've met some strong-minded and amazing people. They also enjoyed running track as much as I did. We worked hard and strived to do better in each event. During my sophomore year in high school, I've started exceeding my personal records. My teammates were just as excited as me. I like to see myself as a team leader and I like to lead by example. My team is like my family. I enjoy every moment with them. When graduation arrives I know that I will miss my team.
With this being said, we must include the importance of education. My family has always instilled in me that education is power. I am the type of person that works hard. When I do not understand something I always ask questions. Schoolwork is important to me even though I struggle at times. My teachers have always taken time out to help improve my studies. This allowed me to become more organized and to use the necessary skills when needed. I know that this will guide me through my college career.
During my free time, I take pleasure in entertaining others with my musical talent. I play the drums with the band for the school. There are multiple events that my high school has which includes family and friends. It's really fun to play for an audience. At this time, I'm teaching myself how to play the guitar and I find it to be relaxing. I'm also teaching myself how to play the piano which has been fun. Usually, I bring my family together so they can hear a new tune that I came up with. Of course, they usually love when I play for them.
