Through track and cross country I have learned that there is no feeling comparable to the feeling of running a PR or winning a race. I was lucky enough to be a part of a team where I was able to experience the best of both worlds when we won the PIAA District 3 meet during our 2017 cross country season. At the time I was a sophomore and only 5 or 6 months before that I was pushed by a member of my 4×400 relay team to try out for cross country once the spring track season was over. Before that summer, distance was something I had never tried, but that decision to run cross country was one of the best decisions I have ever made. Both cross country and track have taught me a lifestyle of discipline, perseverance, and dedication. At the same time they have brought me my teammates and coaches who are now lifelong friends and role models. Like track and cross country, academics are very important to me as well. Finding the right school where I can study architecture is just as important, if not more important than finding the right school where I can run. I hope to be able to continue the lifestyle I have learned through track and cross country into college and throughout the rest of my life.
