In seventh grade I joined track & field with my family's and guidance counselor's help. My mom has pictures of me running with a smile on my face from throughout the years (since I was old enough to run), but seventh grade was the first time I participated in it as a sport. At that point I was gaining experience. I strive to improve every season. Going into my senior year I have several goals in mind, including medaling at states in cross country and track while setting new PRs. I will continue to sacrifice small things in order to compete at higher levels, such as eating healthy (for example, avoiding processed foods), ensuring I get enough sleep, increasing my training levels, etc. After high school, I want to continue my competitive running career while maintaining my academic level in college.
