Sean Smith '23 Recruiting Profile

I aspire to be an elite runner and to help my team be the best of the best. I will work very hard at practice and will encourage my teammates through the good and tough days. You want me to be a part of your team because I have grit. I get the job done and push through no matter how much it hurts. I do this not only on the track but in life as well. As a high schooler, I have been through some tough times, but I have always pushed through and kept moving forward.  Along with grit, I have a very competitive personality.  I don't like to lose. Also, I love the atmosphere of meets and really get excited before and during them. When I toe the line, I tell myself that I belong and that I can race with anyone.  Furthermore, I can execute race plans and give my all to perfect the plan. As a person, I aspire to be God's servant both in life and on the track. He has given me the talent to be able to run competitively, and I want to thank Him for my gift by using it to the fullest. In academics, I may not have a 4.0, but I work hard to get the best grades I can and have often been praised by my teachers for my perseverance. To date, perhaps the greatest testament to my grit and perseverance is that I have earned the rank of Eagle Scout.
