I started running track for fun in middle school and in summer developmental programs. Initially coaches put me in mid-long distance events but I feel in love with sprints (probably because my Mom was a sprinter). My sophomore year of high school, I decided to go out for the track team. In the first meet, I suffered a fluke, season-ending injury, breaking my pelvis coming out of the starter blocks.
Since that injury, which has healed, my main goal this senior year, has been training hard to lower my times so I can be competitive in both high school, qualify for state, and eventually college. I want to make an impact on any team that I am on and be a leader on and off the track.
