COACH TESTIMONIAL:

Graham Maddox and I began working together in the fall of 2022.  Whenever a running back/linebacker is leaving football for throwing, it has my undivided attention!  Across 25 years of throws coaching, Graham is one of the most naturally explosive athletes I have ever coached. Maddox is coachable, hungry to learn.  In the EAGERNESS category, he ranks in my top ten per cent.

Graham is speed, acceleration and explosion-oriented, so I’ve had to slow him down to hit correct throwing positions.  He has been both willing and cooperative about the purpose of each position.  He gets more accomplished in 2 hours than some throwers log in a week. His intentional focus will present a college coach with a fun, serious thrower.  

Graham does an efficient job in recruiting power out of his slightly smaller frame, and an efficient transfer of that power to the discus and shot. By May 2023, I expect he may well surpass distances of much bigger throwers.  

His desire and passion about throwing makes him a great candidate for a school that needs him.  That school will be glad they invested in Graham Maddox.

Graham… about me:

I love to compete!  That probably comes from my competitive family.  We compete at everything…. Board games, driveway basketball and everything in between.  I’d sweep the leg to win at checkers (KIDDING… kinda).   I was told to try out for shot/discus after a football coach told be I was abnormally strong and explosive for my age. That started me down the past to Track/Field in 8th grade.  

I absolutely enjoy hitting the gym and pushing myself in the weight room.  I take pride in my numbers and a consistently push myself to improve in the weight room, on the field and in the classroom.  

If you challenge me, I will rise to the challenge and exceed expectations.
