Personal Statement
I am a freshman at Amarillo High in Amarillo, TX. Though I have only been throwing for about 2.5 years now, I feel I have made some great accomplishments and it has influenced my life so much. In 8th grade I threw the area meet record for discus with a 163'7" and the city record for discus with 180'1", breaking both by a huge margin. I qualified for the 2023 Jr Olympics in both shot put and discus with a 179'6" in discus and a 51'6" in shot put. In the Jr Olympics I placed 2nd in shot put with a throw of 51'0.75" and won 1st in discus with a throw of 190'. I have a deep passion for both throwing and STEM. I would love to join a program that can help me excel in both of these passions.
