Personal Statement

My name is Ian Colbert and I have a goal to be one of the best Olympic runners of all time. A college would see how much work ethic I put into something I love, as much as track. My track career is not my only goal in life though, I wish to study in a pre-nursing program and become a pediatric nurse practitioner. I never was afraid to work hard to get to where I needed to be, and when a challenge arose so did I. My heart burns with a passion to compete in everything I do and be the best at it. I also come to teams as a leader and I am not afraid to get past my comfort zone to be different. Running for a collegiate team is a major bonus as I run sprints, mid-distance, and hurdles. I come with a mindset of knowing no one works as hard as me, and if they do that just means to push through adversity.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
