My collegiate goals and aspirations are to experience many new opportunities both in the classroom and out of the classroom. I am looking forward to learning new things, meeting other students with diverse backgrounds, and competing at the collegiate level. As a team member, I offer skill and experience I have acquired since I was six years old. As a young runner, I competed in national competitions at the AAU Junior Olympics in Orlando, Detroit, and Virginia Beach. In high school, my experiences in Cross Country, Indoor Track and Field, and Outdoor Track and Field have lead me to conference, regional, and state competitions. Since my freshman year, I have earned a position on varsity teams for each season. In addition to my athletic ability, my personality and commitment to camaraderie with my teammates makes my approach to the sport unique to other recruits. In the sport of running, many athletes focus on their individual achievements. While personal responsibility is important, the process is more gratifying with the support of teammates. Dedication and hard work are the keystones to success, but I also feel that success is achieved when teammates enjoy the time they spend together while training and competing.
